The post in which I am still eagerly awaiting my Fairyloot box from February, as it seems to be taking the scenic route to my mailbox, and because it’s Friday and I feel like it… I will take some guesses at the SURPRISE March Book Boxes books based on their themes.
Not really a spoiler alert, because these are not spoilers, but if you don’t like reading guesses… please avert all eyes now! It’s time for not-spoiler-spoiler-like-guesses!
In 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…
OwlCrate’s March Theme is “Sailors, Ships and Seas”
Clue: Our book pick for March is a swash-buckling adventure from start to finish. It features a fierce and funny female lead, and a brooding love interest.
Best Guess: I feel like this is the only one that fits the swashbuckling fun. Plus it seems like exactly the kind of book that OC would choose!
My guess is…Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller.
Clue: This book is all about a misfit crew, dangerous enemies, forbidden romance and outlaws! It’s already earned a spot as one of my top 10 reads from 2017. It is unreleased currently.
My Guess: I feel like this description is actually about Guardians of the Galaxy. #scratcheshead.
Space Pirates? In March? I see there is a book named Nemesis coming out in March, but it doesn’t seem to really fit because they are on Earth though there is a space element. And if it’s not released yet, it can’t be Empress of a Thousand Skies (February release). So… though I hadn’t heard much of this one at all…
My guess is Shadow Run by Adrianne Strickland and Michael Miller.
Fairyloot’s March Theme is “Myths and Monsters”
Clue: The book is the first in a new series and it is VERY highly anticipated from a bestselling author. It will be a special UK edition that is signed by the author and will have sprayed blue pages!
My Guess: Because the UK hardback version is nearly completely blue, and it’s a first in a new series, and it’s a bestselling author…
My guess is Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. Look at how blue and beautiful it is! Plus because it releases at the end of March, this also makes sense as to why they can’t ship it around their normal time. (Shipping is due to start on 3/23.)
Spearcraft’s March Theme is “Pirates ‘n Mermaids”
Clue: March gunna be a double book box!! Yarr ye heard us right each subscriber gunna receive two books. One gunna be a new release YA novel that be highly anticipated ‘n the other comes from a fabulous author that we be so excited to be partnerin’ wit’.
My Guess: I think this is going to be the same as OwlCrate for the pirate book, and that is the ‘new release’ they note. So Daughter of the Pirate King.
For their second book, it’s really tough because it only says one is a new release, and the other is a just a fabulous author. Soooo. It’s a mermaid book that is probably not a new release. I will guess The Siren by Keira Cass because I know her Selection series is incredibly popular. I have zero confidence in this guess! Haha.
Wonder Girl Box’s March Theme is “Bookish is Beautiful”
My Guess: I like these ones with no clues… I think it really evens the playing field on my guesses. Hahahaha… so, I’m gonna say it has to be about a girl who loves books (Capt. Obvious reporting for duty!) My guess is… Confessions of a High School Disaster by Emma Chastain.
Uppercase Box’s March Theme is Non-Existent.
Clue: None. They don’t do themes.
My Guess: For no other reason but that I want it and have nothing else to go on… my guess is Hunted by Megan Spooner. Because I really really really want this book. It’s supposed to be a great Beauty and the Beast re-telling.
What are your guesses for the March boxes?
