Hooray! It’s Wednesday again! Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Breaking the Spine to shine a light on an eagerly anticipated read. Now that I’ve done this tag for a few weeks, it makes me a little worried that I will re-pick a book that I’ve already picked, but not so worried that I will actually go back and look. Not because I’m lazy, I’m not lazy, I’m apparently feeling a little reckless. And if I feature the same book twice, I must really want it. Right? Right. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
This week I was reminded of how much I am looking forward to a book of short stories. Why? Because it has many of my favorite YA authors paired up with a bunch of booktubers to create the ultimate celebration of VILLAINS. *insert evil laugh* *muahahahahha*
Without further ado, my pick for this week is… BECAUSE YOU LOVE TO HATE ME: 13 TALES OF VILLAINY… by many awesome people.
In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains’ points of view.
These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like “Medusa,” Sherlock Holmes, and “Jack and the Beanstalk” provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains’ acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage–and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again!
