#WaitingOnWednesday: April 26, 2017 – Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

I feel like I’m nearly jumping out of my skin with excitement for A Court of Wings & Ruin, which is officially LESS than a week away. So I’m going to go with a Throne of Glass pick this week since we have a TITLE (hooray!) for ToG #6. Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Breaking the Spine to shine a light on an eagerly anticipated read. And everything ToG is eagerly anticipated for me. Well, everything SJM.

The cover is still coming, but the title for the Chaol novel is officially Tower of Dawn. Which makes me think of the Tower of Joy from GRR Martin… but I’m sure they have nothing in common other than towers.

In the next installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.

Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the Captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the King of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.

His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica—the stronghold of the southern continent’s mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.

But what they discover in Antica will change them both—and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.

Who else is excited for the next Throne of Glass installment? 🙂 And on the bright side… one year-ish until the last ToG. *sigh*

  1. I don’t know if I’m excited for Tower of Dawn. I was a little irked that it’s going to be a full-sized novel, when it was supposed to originally be a novella. It just feels like SJM is adding such unnecessary stuff to her series, and as a result, the books are dragging. There’s a part of me that just doesn’t care about TOG anymore – I’ve started to hate Aelin and Rowan and I don’t even care how the last book will end. It’s a shame because I started off loving this series, but 7 books is just soooooo much, especially when half of it was unnecessary – like was Heir of Fire/Queen of Shadows even important? I don’t really think so – they could have been 1 book instead of 2. Idk, that’s my opinion. I will still read Tower of Dawn and the last TOG book because I’ve come this far lol! I’m hoping I’m wrong and I end up loving Tower of Dawn. We’ll see.
That being said I am so excited for ACOWAR – even more so since I read the snippet from the first chapter!! 😀

    1. Tuesday is seriously not coming fast enough! ACOWAR is all I can think about! ❤❤❤ But ya, I tend to agree that I am not to sure about a full length Chaol novel. Not even just full length… like epically long. But, I love Aelin and Rowan and Manon, so I was happy with HoF and QoS 🙂
