#TopTenTuesday: Top Ten YA Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start (But Haven’t!)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is the Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start but Haven’t! Ouch. This will be painful. I’m so sure there are many favorites for people that I haven’t read yet. Alright, let’s get this over with quickly. Please don’t be mad… they are definitely on my list.

Do we have any series in common? What’s the series you want to read the most?

Abhorsen series by Garth Nix – This is a hard one to admit because I am a Nix fan. And no one understands how you become a Nix fan without having read Sabriel. So. Admitted. It happened.
This one is resolving itself shortly. I’m in a reading group that is tackling it. So finally I will understand what all the hype is about with The Raven Cycle.
Technically, okay, I have read the first book. But I haven’t read the series. And it has been YEARS since I read the first book. Probably because I read it when it was released, and then never realized it was going to be a series. One day I’ll get to the rest!
This book is so perfectly matched to my wants, I can’t believe I haven’t read it. My problem at this point is that the series is so long, and each book is really long, that it will take some real dedicated time to get through. And the series still isn’t complete. Maybe I should wait… haha! Seriously though, I need to read this series. I don’t think it’s technically YA, but I’m including it because most of the YA fans I know have read it.
This has only been on my list for awhile. It was never on my radar until I joined some online reading groups… and people seemed to LOVE this series. (Or hate it. Like most things, thousands of YA fans cannot agree on one series’ worth as a whole.) It’s sitting on my shelf next to the Selection series – which I did read – so it’s only a matter of time for this series to make it to my nightstand.
This is another series that was never on my radar until several reading groups highly recommended it. I had stopped reading vampire books many, many years ago, but I admit I still enjoy them. So it’s on the list!
Lots of people swear by Graceling. I feel like this is one of those series that I am offending people by sharing that I haven’t read it yet. But I will read it!
I am pretty well into Kagawa’s Iron Fey series, but her Talon series is also big on my list. I really enjoy her books, so I will likely wait for the last book of this series to come out before tackling it. (Is it out? haha).
I’ve read the first few chapters of the Firebird series by Claudia Gray, I think through an Epic Reads First 5 (that could be wrong). Anyway, I really enjoyed it, so I must read this and all her works.
For me, this is the most painful one to admit because I love Marie Lu and her work. I’ve read the Young Elites series, but haven’t gotten to Legend yet. Sigh. I think I need to fix that this summer before Warcross comes out!!

  1. You have so many great series on this list!!! I love the Raven Cycle, the Lightning Thief, and Graceling ❤ I also really want to read the Outlander series but I'm a bit intimidated by the length (both of the books and the long series itself!). Great list! 🙂
