Okay, time to bring back the Tag-Me-Thursdays. If you love a tag and you think I should join in, please tag me! I’ll try to feature them as I go along this summer. And if you like this tag, consider yourself tagged and share your link in my comments so I can visit it 🙂
For this week I am doing the TMI Book Tag. I’m sure, as you know, TMI means too much info… as in… this is more than I need to know about someone. I haven’t heard TMI in a few years at least, but it’s definitely one I never forget to think in my head when someone overshares about their life (especially at work or in the classroom).
Let’s get this started!
1. What fictional character has the best style?
Rhysand from ACOTAR series. All black, purple eyes, wings, seeping black night and stars around him whenever he wishes, and a fetish for picking off invisible flecks of dust from his perfect clothes? Please. Rhysand’s got style.
2. Your book girlfriend/boyfriend/fictional crush?
Okay, I could easily say Rhysand again, however I feel like he is all Feyre’s. They are mates, after all. So I’m going with Aedion from Throne of Glass.
3. Ever loved a character but then started hating them?
The other way around, yes. But I do not recall a character I loved and THEN hated. Amren came very close to this in ACOWAR at a certain turning point, but then it all worked out. She lucked out. I was enraged for several minutes.
4. Biggest/Longest book on your shelf?
A Court of Wings & Ruin (I think… it’s like 700ish pages. If not, likely Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is the longest.)
5. Heaviest book on your shelf?
It has to be a textbook… likely one of my art history books.
6. Do you have any book posters?
Not yet. I mean, like small artwork cards, but no poster-sized posters.
7. Do you have any book themed jewelry?
Yes… yes, I do. Thanks book boxes!
8. Book OTP?
Rhysand and Feyre.
9. Favorite book series?
Currently – ACOTAR.
10. Favorite book-to-movie soundtrack?
Lord of the Rings… the score is beautiful, and I love the song “Into the West” sung by Annie Lenox for the last movie.
11. A book story you miss/wish would continue?
Right now? Roar by Cora Carmack. The book is amazing, and I need it to go on forever… thankfully it is a series, but I have a long wait til the next one. Hmph.
12. Favorite stand-alone?
Currently… Hunted by Meagan Spooner.
13. Since when have you read books?
I began reading well before I went to kindergarten, so I imagine 3 or 4 years old? Something like that. Having older siblings helped me to learn early.
14. Which Hogwarts house are you in?
Gryfftherinclaw. I’ve tested as Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw… and I know, the hat takes your choice into consideration, but even still there are days I would side with any of the three. So I’m divergent, and I’m remaining as all three.
15. Quality you look for in a book?
I just want a book to make me feel something. If I don’t feel a connection, I likely won’t finish it. Or I will finish it begrudgingly.
16. Favorite book quote?
‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest times if one only remembers to turn on the light.’ Albus Dumbledore
17. Favorite author?
Leigh Bardugo, likely tied with Sarah J. Maas
18. Favorite book cover?
This is an evil question. Today it is the cover of Want by Cindy Pon. Because I love this book and just read it. Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray is also rather lovely. And The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. And so many, many, MANY others.
19. Action or Romance?
Can’t it be both?
20. Where do you go when a sad moment happens?
The next page.
21. How long do you need to finish a book?
It depends. An afternoon is good for some, and days and nights are needed for others.
22. How long is your mourning period?
Also depends. If I have the next book in the series (if it is a series), then likely none. If it is a serious book hangover, it has lasted weeks.
23. Least favorite book?
I wasn’t sure until I looked at my one-star GR ratings. Haha.
Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. I think the characters are pretty despicable. You don’t cheat on people with people that are still in relationships with other people, and you definitely don’t continue to do it emotionally or physically after any accidental kiss in the heat of the moment… you just DON’T do that. If you realize you love someone else and you are in the wrong relationship, I get it. It happens. But be a grown up and break up with the person you are with rather than stringing them along while you try to figure out your feelings. Gross. Ugh. This book has made me mad all over again!
24. Turn on in a character?
Strength, intellect and humor.
25. Turn off in a character?
Depends on the character; some can pull off traits that others cannot. But for an across the board turn off — anyone who puts themselves before others, especially their loved ones.
26. Reason I joined book blogging?
I knew it would get me to read more, and I LOVE to read!
27. Name a scary book.
It by Stephen King.
28. Last book that made you cry?
Roar by Cora Carmack. Before that it was Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas. And before that it was Heir of Fire… then before that it was Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I may be missing a few, this is an overshare question. Haha.
29. Last book that you gave 5 stars?
Want by Cindy Pon (this week!)
30. Any favorite book titles?
For the titles themselves? Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor… actually, all of the titles in that series.
31. Last book you read?
Want by Cindy Pon.
32. Book you’re currently reading?
I’m in between books today, but likely The Raven Boys is next because I’ve been meaning to read it all month with a group. Hahahaha… this is why I can’t be in book groups. I’m such a mood reader!
33. Last book adaptation you watched?
I watched Howl’s Moving Castle again recently, so I will go with that. I love Miyazaki movies!
34. A book character you’ve always wanted to talk to?
Aedion from ToG. He is my book boyfriend, I mean, I kinda have to say him, right?
35. An author you’ve always wanted to talk to?
Sarah J. Maas. I think we’d be good friends.
36. Favorite book snack?
37. Book world you want to live in?
If I can have powers that match that world… Prythian. Or Hogwarts. If I can’t have the powers in that world and would be massacred trying to be human in a magic filled world, then I would say booooo (firstly), and choose a book set somewhere on the Amalfi Coast in Italy so I’d have some great scenery.
38. Book world you DON’T want to live in?
This sort of stems on the last question… if I have no magic, then I do not want to live in a magic filled world. Any magic filled world. But if I have magic, I have no fear, so I would just avoid boring, isolated worlds and war-torn worlds.
39. Last time you smelled a book?
40. Weird insults used in books?
Eat slugs! (Oh, Ron, honestly… what were you thinking?)
41. Favorite romance book?
The Royals series by Erin Watt. (Slightly more NA than YA, but still…)
42. Do you write?
43. Favorite magical item?
Invisibility cloak, for sure.
44. Your Quidditch position?
Would it sound arrogant if I said Seeker? Hahahaha… I’m not a goalie. Beater or seeker for me.
45. Name a song you connect to a book.
The Shape of You by Ed Sheeran… Paper Princess by Erin Watt. Hahaha. I mean, it helps that it was on the radio frequently during the couple of days when I read it.
46. Favorite book related chat up line?
Not anything that I remember… I’m much better at quoting shows/movies!
47. Have you ever used it?
If I had a favorite at one point, I don’t think I ever used it. And if I did, it likely went terribly wrong and I’m not with that person.
48. Favorite book fandom?
Throne of Glass
49. How many books do you own?
300+ in the house… many more at my parents… so there’s no knowing today.
I tag everyone that feels like doing this tag.
