Seriously. I re-binged on Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix recently (something to have on in the background while I work through grad school), and I’m saying ‘seriously’ all over again. The new season starts again this week, and of course I’ll be out of town, but at least I’ll be able to be in real time on the story line again. Anyone else into Grey’s still? What’s your verdict on Riggs? And why the heck did they have to bring in you know who to make Owen’s storyline rise up again? I’m done with Owen. DONE. He belonged with Christina, end of story.
It’s been a bit since we went to the movies; probably August. In August we saw Dunkirk, Wonder Woman, and Baby Driver. Last night I stayed up way to late and watched Beauty & the Beast (the one with Emma Watson) on Netflix now that it’s available there. It was cute but odd… so close to the Disney version, and yet also several departures from the Disney version. (No fae and all the courts of Prythian though, so it wasn’t that far off from the original one. Hahahaha. #ACOTARforever.)
LISTENING TO: CURRENT TOP 10
Okay, my music is a little chaotic right now and heavily top 40 pop. It’s easy to have one while I’m working, or doing school work, or trying to convince myself that cooking is a necessity and that takeout is a waste of time and money. (That last one is a tough one, especially when it’s 90 degrees out in SEPTEMBER. GRRR.) Apologies in advance.
Black Widow – Iggy Azalea
Power – Little Mix
Pumpkin Soup – Kate Nash
Heads Will Roll – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Green Light – Lorde
Outside – Ellie Goulding
Wide Awake – Katy Perry
One Sweet Love – Sara Bareilles
Naked Eye – Luscious Jackson
Blank Space – Taylor Swift
Another cost saving measure that is still costing me money, but not as much as it would if I did what I actually wanted to do: weekly facials! I completely credit facials and good skin care for the reason why I still look like I did ten years ago, and why my high school friends look like they are in their 40s already. Get out of the sun (unless you have sunscreen on) and adapt a skincare routine NOW. Take care of your face and neck and every bit of that skin!
Okay, off the soap box. So if I was spending money for fun, I would definitely go to my esthetician for a facial once a month. But when cash is tight (such as when you are paying for classes and living in general), it can be sad to not have that extra pampering. Enter my two new best friends:
The OleHenriksen PowerBright Professional Brightening System, and PowerPeel Transforming Facial System. Each are a three-step at home facial ritual including amazing exfoliation, a peel, and a soothing mask. They are super results oriented, just like the facials you would get at an OleHenriksen spa. Everything is pre-measured so you can’t mess up. And you get 6 facials per box, including a couple of complexion sponges to help cleanup your cute face without having to mess up your towels (because seriously… no one needs more laundry.)
So for the cost of less than one really good facial at my favorite spa, I got one of each box… if you’re counting, that means 12 facials. And my skin looks ridiculously awesome again. I do them on Sunday nights and get some work done while the final stage (the mask) is doing its thing.
I should really work at Sephora to support my skincare addiction.
And that’s all for this edition!
This was a fun one! Still has some book related stuff, but also delves into so many other things I love in entertaining myself. What are you trying currently? I’m always on the lookout for new things.
Thanks for reading! 🙂
